This happened to me when I was a refugee

and english became my mother tongue.

I am not a refugee anylonger, english is not my mother tongue.

Still It is one of the two worldlanguages i know.

The other one is wordless.

This is about a Man of the World, in the truest sense of the phrase.

This is written in both.

There are some truly great Masters in this world.

Once I was fortunate enough to meet one

although i did not realize it at the time.

I cannot remember what he looked like, he was a man shaped and formed by the desert he lived in

He had the face and the appearance of the landscape, indistinct in a crowd.

In the desert he became almost invisible,

only the blue eyes, the voice and the movements reveiled his presence.

I still cannot grasp what happened the day I followed a stranger into the desert.

A holy man, the host in the local cafe called him,

a very shy and quiet person who did not speak much english.

He wanted to show me something, the host said.

I followed him into the rugged desert landscape surrounding Petra in Jordan

despite the fear that was wresteling in me

bringing images of death, molestation and worse into my mind.

What first seemed like a foolish act,

later beacame one of bravery

Now it is one of the great Wonders in my life.

It was an act of total surrender,

to Trust itself.

Six weeks later I was engulfed by the World of Spirit. Totally.

A brief meeting with one of true greatness

can change the course of ones life.

And not only that,

it can sustain you from the deepest deapths of your being,

guide you through extreme hardships from which there really is no return.

If it wasnt for this encounter.

Without you having a faintest idea,

until you look back, and realize

To be touched and confirmed.

Simply that.

To be touched and confirmed beyond the ego and the self.

Once is enough,

enough to last a lifetime.

Some time ago I expressed regrets as not to having fully embraced the opportunity

I realized i had spent time with a Mastershaman

descending from a long lineage of shamans since biblical times.

I was offered something more, I declined the offer.

Fear took hold of me

The opportunity presented itself once again.

I sensed a presence

i recognized it.

it was the Mystic from the desert

Since then, the Master has worked with me,

To Finish what he started, in his own words

Today, on my daughters birthday, his final words reached me

To me it is sacred and I hold it in revere,

it should be kept close to the heart,

and only there.

As the moment passes it is no longer sacred

He ceased to be a holy man, he became part of the world - as the void he left behind.

He became the empty space,

a gateway for The Wisdom and Compassion of the world

which never ceases to touch and move.

"My time has come now

It is time to say the goodbyes and the prayers

You have done well, dear one

All my blessings i send you

Now in this hour of deliverance

I have found my peace all those years ago.

No grief

No fear

No sorrow

No doubt

I know the way

I beg of you one thing,

Go back,

One day.

Go to the summit of the mountain I showed you,

You will see it all in great clarity,

then.

No tears, dear one,

I am not one to cry over

The time has come

Deliverance is waiting by the entrance of my home

Joyfull,

Please,

joyfull.

Of all the gifts you carry

Joy is certainly the greatest one.

You do not yet know it.

Rejoice!"

At ten minutes to four,

it feels as though the world sighs,

As if sometbody has taken the last breath,

and not only the body,

but the world itself breaths it out of earthly existence.

As a great soul leaves,

the emtiness becomes noticable by the senses as presence,

as vacuum.

I sense the World itself go ino a state of reverence at that very monment

I am awestruck,

Some people live their lives in a way that makes the world hold its breath in a state of reverence when they leave.

I am deeply grateful for having met one of them,

And even more for having been touched and moved by the Wisdom and Compassion that emanates from such a being.

It became a companion, in me and beside me.

Only now,

when it is replaced by the forces of vacuum,

I realize

If it wasnt for this meeting with the Mystic in the desert,

I know I would not have been alive today.

My life changed its course due to this remarkable meeting in the past

It is about to do so again.

Shaking from spiritual fevers

My eyes gaze through states of delirium

I am merely a fata morgana

As the profound and eternal

reveals itself

as a moment of quiet spiritual madness

In deep gratitude to my Master.
